Skirts and bases

I started work on a new doll yesterday. Her name is Veronica and I'm hoping to make her a cheerleader though it won't be the first time if it suddenly changes half way through. Carla didn't set out to have a cocktail dress but that's how she ended up.

Anywho, I'm having trouble making the pleated skirt. I think what I might do is Google images of pleated skirts and find a reference picture. Of course, any suggestions are quite welcome!

I found Veronica a base at Watermelon Bubblegum, on a suggestion by my sister. But picking one out made me realise I know very few sites with good bases that I like. I am very much into the more realistic bases that are about 10-15 cm high. So, what I'm looking for are links to sites that contain bases but not just the bases I described above. Hit me with links to sites with the types of bases you like or just any bases you've found. What I think I'm going to do if I can get the right resources, it set myself up a database of base sites sorted by the name of the base, name of the site/doller and description of base.

But, that's for later. Now I'd better get back to work (my job) instead of blogging about dolling!

Here's another doll I did before I started this blog. She was made from a base from Wayuki called Gidget. Her name is Carla and again I made her in two days.

Been a while

Yes, it has and unfortunately little of that while has been spent dolling. Wedding plans are more accurate.

But, I thought I'd pop by and post up a doll I pixelled before I even started this blog. It's not my first but it's the first one I've actually thought was presentable.

Her name is Brandy and I created her with a base from Electronic Candy. She's made on Georgie1.gif. She took me two days to create.

Comments and critiques are most welcome!

Lauren

Hello world!

This blog exists for the sole purpose of presenting my pixel art to the world. At least, that's what I created it to do. I'm not saying there won't be many random tangents and such.

First, we shall set down some ground rules.

1. The base is the property of the base artist; the clothes, accessories, etc. are my property. All my completed dolls are posted with links to the site from where the base came.
2. No snitching! You are welcome to post my dolls on your personal site provided you accompany it with a link to this blog. No using my dolls for profit. It'd be great if you could let me know you want to use a doll by commenting a post on this blog and telling me or by contacting me by email. Don't forget to give me a link to where you're posting the doll.
3. No modifying. If you do use one of my dolls, please don't modify it in anyway. No, not even adding pets or banners or sparklies. If you really, really want to do something like that, please contact me and ask me. I might let you!
4. Absolutely NO using DiPs. If I have marked a doll as "DiP" (Doll in Progress) please do not take it for any reason.
5. Follow regular dolling netiquette. You know it, you obey it. Thanks!
6. Bases. While at present, I don't make bases, if I ever do, the usual applies: credit me if you use them and so forth.

This blog is primarily for me to rant about my dolling exploits and to post finished and in progress works and to ask for advice. Comments on dolls, rants, questions and anything else are most completely welcome. And they don't have to be all about dolling. Or even relelvant...

Okay, let's keep it mostly relevant coz while random tangents are cool, we want to keep some sort of sanity. Or at least an appearance of sanity.

Oh, almost forgot:
6. Have fun!
